WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

From a young age, my fascination with animals and a natural curiosity about food, eventually led me to a vegetarian lifestyle. However, it wasn't until my mom developed a rare food allergy to meat, that I truly grasped the challenges of transitioning to a plant-based diet. We think plant-based eating should be easy, so we set out to do our part in making that happen.

HOW WE DO IT

At Tempted, we're driven by a mission to ignite excitment and curiosity for plant-based foods to encourage better eating habits and promote a healthier planet. We believe in making plant-based meals enjoyable and a little adventurous, while still preserving familiar flavors and comfort foods. Our menu is rooted in plants, with a goal to harmonize what tastes good, what is good for our bodies and what is sustainble for the planet.

WHAT WE'RE DOING

While we remain committed to serving environmentally conscious and sustainable fare, we recognize the ongoing journey toward our goals. Currently, our focus lies on:

ORGANIC PRODUCTS

Organic products are better for the planet because they are farmed more responsibly to reduce resource and nutrient depletion commonly associated with non-organic farming practices. Organic focuses on preservation so we continuously look for certified organic products to complement our menu.

MEAT ALTERNATIVES

Products like Impossible™ and Beyond are on our menu for a reason - we love that meat can be made from plants! There is a lot of discussion around the subject of meat alternatives, so we encourage you to check out the company websites for more details on the products they make.

MADE IN-HOUSE FOODS

This is mentioned on our menu, not because we like tooting our own horn (although we will), but to understand that when foods are made fresh they have reduced additives and preservatives which results in better, more natural tasting foods.

COMPOSITING & RECYCLING

80 million tons of food goes to waste each year, and 46% of that waste comes from the food industry. We have a small backyard flock of hens who don't mind when we need to throw out unused foods like strawberries and lettuce. The foods we cannot give our hens are collected and deposited for composting.
